New rules governing detergents and cleaning agents
New detergent rules came into force in Europe on 8 October 2005. Amongst other things, these made it compulsory for dm-drogerie markt and other detergent / cleaning agent manufacturers to provide information on their products' ingredients via the internet, in order to offer greater transparency to their users. dm will therefore provide this information for its quality brand Denkmit.
As from 8 October 2005, companies producing detergents and cleaning agents have a duty, amongst other things, to publish on their websites a list of the ingredients of their products, showing these ingredients in decreasing order of proportion in the end product.
To ensure that the data sheets are classified in an unambiguous way even if formulations or products change, the Denkmit products concerned are all labelled with special ID numbers, which can be found on the product packaging near the Customer Service telephone number and GTIN barcode. These ID numbers are integrated into the names of the product data sheets, and into the data sheets themselves. The data sheets display the ingredients of all Denkmit products in the INCI form. Substances which do not yet have an INCI name will be referred to by the name given in the European Pharmacopoeia, or by the substance´s chemical name.
You will find the product data sheets attached to the product overview.

Greater transparency for users
The objectives of the new rules are to achieve greater transparency for users, as well as to standardize regulations between EU member states. From now on, product labels will have to declare all preservatives, for example, regardless of the concentration thereof in the product, as well as optical brighteners, enzymes and certain scents.
Data sheets for medical personnel
dm-drogerie markt offers special data sheets to medical personnel. Data sheets for products belonging to the quality brand Denkmit can be obtained from the Freiburg Poison Information Centre.
